Gill & Alex – Monday 26th May

Our third wedding this weekend saw the marriage of Gill and Alex. Their wedding took place at Ottery St Mary church followed by the reception at Combe House Hotel, Gittisham. This was our second wedding at Combe House in two days!

Despite the stormy weather in the morning Gill & Alex just took it in their stride and got on with enjoying their wedding – it was clear to me that marrying each other was way more important than the weather! Fortunately, the wind dropped and the rain stopped for most of the afternoon, allowing them to enjoy some of their day outside.

Karen & Paul – Sunday 25th May

Karen & Paul were married at Gittisham Church followed by a reception at Combe House Hotel and what a glorious day they had. If you have been reading the blog earlier then you will know that we were expecting heavy rain, but instead got heavy sunshine!

Anyway Karen & Paul had a fantastic day with their guests and enjoyed all the things that make Combe House such a great venue!

Isabelle & Robert – Saturday 24th May

Our first wedding this Bank Holiday weekend was for Isabelle and Robert who were married at the majestic Wells Town Hall followed by a reception in a fabulous Indian themed marquee at Portway.

Entertainment was provided throughout by a great band called Jazz Dynamos and the wedding guests dined on an unusual wedding breakfast that was supplied by Isabelle & Robert’s favourite curry house back in London – it was superb!

Busy weekend!

We had a very busy Bank Holiday weekend photographing 3 fabulous weddings from Saturday – Monday. The first wedding (Saturday) was that of Isabelle & Robert who got married in Wells, Somerset, the second was Karen & Paul who got married in Gittisham, Devon and on Monday it was Gill and Alex’s turn, and their wedding was at Ottery St Mary.

Both Karen & Paul and Gill & Alex chose to have their receptions at Combe House Hotel, so it was a real treat to be there for 2 consecutive days at such a lovely venue.

The other thing to mention about this weekend was that the weather forecast was supposed to be awful. Gladly Saturday turned out to be fine, if a bit windy (a few hats flying around Wells), Sunday was the surprise of the day, it started cloudy and overcast (but better than forecast) by the time we arrived at the church the clouds cleared and for the rest of the day we had a beautiful summers day. As we were on a roll, getting good weather on Monday was probably pushing it, especially as we were expecting heavy rain all day – to start with that was exactly what we got! However as soon as the ceremony was over things started to dry up and the rain kept away until the evening which gave us good time to get outside for the photo’s.

Anyway, I will be posting some images here on the Blog from all of the weddings, hopefully by the end of the day.

Saturday 17th May 2008 – Jane & Craig

I took a trip down to Blisland in Cornwall this weekend to photograph the wedding of Jane & Craig. Although the weather was pretty miserable during the early part of the day we were fortunate to get some relief from the rain when we arrived at Alverton Manor in Truro where the weather was much better – I don’t really think Jane & Craig noticed the rain anyway!!

Elizabeth & Thomas

Wow – what a nice day! Last weekend I was photographing the wedding of Liz & Tom. The wedding took place in Clyst St George Church followed by a reception at the Deer Park Hotel near Honiton. The weather was perfect and it was great to spend most of the day outside.

Anyway, here are a few from the day…
